Actor Jeremy Gauna replaced Plenty in the role of Peter Plenty Clouds. Gauna was also seen in another Yellowstone spin-off called «1883», - as well as in the series «American Primitive», - «The Last Son», - and «Harbinger». In an interview with the Los Angeles Times in 2025, Gauna said that he and Plenty were «close friends, and it all started through social media».
«We talked every day», - Gauna said about Plenty. «I heard about his struggles in life and the joy of what was to come with '1923.' He was so excited about this role. He couldn’t believe he would be in every episode. It’s hard to realize how things are now».
Gauna also recalled the moment he was offered the role of Plenty, calling it «a very difficult call to get, but also bittersweet».
«I was also able to honor my very good friend and his family», - Gauna emphasized, before highlighting that he understands the responsibility he has in paying tribute to Plenty. «I'm not doing this for praise. I’m not doing this for anything other than to make sure everyone remembers and respects him. I understand that this is my goal. Some people may not fully understand it, but I fully realized it, and Cole was with me throughout the whole process».
The show’s star Brandon Sklenar told The Hollywood Reporter in 2024 that the second season of «1923» will be the last. «This is the conclusion. It’s still limited, but I think of it as a whole — it’s just divided in half, but it’s still one whole. It will end», - the actor said.
