Adam Brody shared his thoughts on political awakening and compared Donald Trump to George Bush. In an interview with GQ magazine published on September 25, Brody revealed that his political awareness began during the Bush-Gore elections and intensified after the September 11, 2001 attacks. He noted that while he considers Bush a more civilized and honorable person than the current president, he disagrees with his policies.
Brody also recalled that during Bush’s presidency, he criticized him as a «bad leader». According to him, the consequences of that administration are still felt 25 years later. In recent years, the actor has actively supported political candidates, particularly participating in the Swing Left campaign since 2018.
Discussing Trump’s influence on political activism in Hollywood, Brody pointed out that his first election in 2016 was a shock to many and sparked a wave of activism. He emphasized that during Trump’s second term, the situation changed: «Corporations began to support him like never before», - making it riskier to speak out against him.
Brody also noted that Hollywood has become more conservative since Trump came to power. He expressed hope for changes in the political landscape ahead of the 2026 elections, stating that «it's becoming interesting again».
