Sandler, 57, added that the new film will feature real professional golfers and cameos from celebrities, such as tight end Chiefs Kelsey, 34.
«It's happening. We’re getting ready to shoot in New Jersey. We’ve been working hard on the script. We didn’t want to disappoint anyone. People have been asking me for a long time. We’re really excited about it. We wrote it with all our might», - Sandler said, adding, «We have something good for Travis».
The actor, who is writing the sequel with the original co-writer of «Happy Gilmore», - Tim Herlihy, praised Kelsey, saying, «He's a really nice guy. You would love him in real life. Such a big, beautiful guy. Funny and cool as hell. He’s handsome and so funny».
Kelsey initially expressed his excitement about Sandler, saying he is a «huge fan of Sandman» and will do «anything» to get a role in the film in the May 29 episode of his podcast «New Heights» with his brother Jason Kelsey. Netflix confirmed that the film will be released in the same month.
