Adele wasted no time and immediately expressed her dissatisfaction with a homophobic commentator during her concert in Las Vegas on Saturday, June 1. After an unidentified audience member shouted, «Pride sucks», - the 36-year-old Grammy winner responded, as seen in videos circulating on social media.

«You came to my concert and just said that Pride sucks? Are you an idiot?» Adele said, and fans applauded. «Don't be so wild», - she continued, adding, «If you have nothing good to say, shut up. Okay?»

Pride Month, which takes place every June, was created in honor of the Stonewall riots in New York in 1969. As a long-time ally of the LGBTQIA+ community, Adele has repeatedly expressed her support throughout her career. In 2016, she paid tribute to the victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando, Florida, during one of her concerts.

«The LGBTQIA+ community — they’re like my soul mates from the youngest age, so I’m very touched by this», - she explained, referring to the tragedy.

The «Easy on Me» artist also shared how she received a letter from a fan who, thanks to Adele’s music, found the strength to come out to their friends.

«I get a lot of letters from people telling me that I help them be happy with themselves and feel comfortable with who they are, and I love that», - Adele began in an interview with Out magazine in 2015. «He liked someone in school but wasn’t open. And he listened to 'Someone Like You' and confessed to his best friend, and then to the guy he liked, and it turned out he was gay too, and now they’re together — he’s 15».

Adele also uses her platform to address other issues. In July 2023, the «Hello» hitmaker reacted to a dangerous viral trend where fans throw objects onto the stage.

«Have you noticed how people are starting to forget concert etiquette in America?» she asked the audience during one of her «Weekends with Adele» shows at the time. «They just throw all sorts of junk on the stage. Have you seen it?»

Holding a T-shirt cannon, Adele added, «I dare you. I dare you to throw something at me»
