Justin Timberlake’s lawyer is ready to «firmly» defend the pop star in court. In a statement obtained from Hollywood Life by Edward Burke Jr. on Wednesday, June 19, the lawyer noted: «I will have a lot to say at the right time, but for now I am awaiting full disclosure from the district attorney’s office».
Burke added in his statement: «I look forward to the opportunity to firmly defend Mr. Timberlake against these charges».
On Tuesday, June 18, the 43-year-old NSYNC member was pulled over by police while driving in the Hamptons on Long Island, New York. According to a criminal complaint obtained by CNN, Timberlake allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign and was allegedly not driving in his lane while operating a 2025 BMW.
The arresting officer claimed that Justin’s eyes were «red and glassy», - and «he had slurred speech, was unsteady on his feet, and did poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests». Additionally, the Everything I Thought It Was performer reportedly refused three times to take a breathalyzer test, according to the arresting officer’s complaint. He was then charged with driving under the influence and two traffic violations.
He also reportedly told the officer, «I had one martini and was driving home to my friends».
After being released from police custody, Timberlake was arrested around 12:30 a.m. and processed at the Sag Harbor police station. Hours later, he was released from police custody.
The Sag Harbor police station did not immediately respond to Hollywood Life’s request for comment.
Timberlake’s arrest occurred during his world tour Forget Tomorrow. He was scheduled to perform in Chicago this week and is expected to return to New York later this month to perform at Madison Square Garden.
After being released from police custody, his wife, Jessica Biel, was spotted filming her upcoming Prime Video series, The Better Sister, in Manhattan.
Neither Biel nor Timberlake have publicly commented on his arrest
