Austin Butler survived a motorcycle accident on the set of his latest film «Bikers». Recalling the moment, the 32-year-old actor noted that he was physically fine, but was worried about the condition of the motorcycle.
«We were filming at night and hit a patch of wet leaves, and I fell», - Austin told PEOPLE magazine in an interview published on Tuesday, June 18. «But fortunately, I landed on my feet».
Speaking to the publication at the premiere of his film in Los Angeles on June 17, the Oscar nominee said, «I was only thinking about the motorcycle. I just wanted to make sure it was okay».
Austin plays Benny in the film, which is set in the 1960s and tells the story of a Chicago motorcycle club called Vandals MC. Although the club starts on a more peaceful note in the film, it gradually turns into a criminal syndicate.
The «Elvis» star also mentioned that his father, David Butler, enjoyed the film because he is also passionate about motorcycles.
«My father rode motorcycles, so I think… It was cool to be able to talk a lot about my father lately, because he instilled in me this love for motorcycles», - Austin added.
After the premiere in Los Angeles, Austin attended a party with his girlfriend, Kaia Gerber, whom he has been dating since late 2021.
Austin has been busy this year. In February, he appeared in the film «Dune: Part Two» as the menacing character Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen. Additionally, he played Gale Cleven in the series «Masters of the Air» on Apple TV+.
As one of the most well-known names in Hollywood now, some fans would like to see Austin in a reboot of «Pirates of the Caribbean», to which the actor recently told Entertainment Tonight that it is «difficult because Johnny Depp laid the foundation in the franchise».
Although originally from Anaheim, California, he has had a lot on his plate, sometimes he has time to relax. Recently, Austin appeared on Jimmy Kimmel’s show, where he reminisced about a party at Paul McCartney’s.
«The last time I saw you was at, possibly, the craziest party of my life», - Jimmy Kimmel told Austin in the June 17 episode, to which Austin remarked, «It was insane».
The Golden Globe and BAFTA winner shared that Taylor Swift «was a DJ at some point»
