Angelina Jolie has officially asked Brad Pitt to «stop the fight» between them by dropping her lawsuit against him regarding their French winery Château Miraval. The couple acquired the winery in 2008 and held their wedding there in 2014.
According to a new report, the 49-year-old actress wants her family to be «on a clear path to recovery». Angelina’s lawyer, Paul Murphy, released a statement to PEOPLE, claiming that Brad, 60, «has been trying to punish and control Angelina by demanding a new extended NDA to cover his own inappropriate behavior and violence».
«These actions are central to this process», - Paul added in his statement to the publication. «We are not at all surprised that Mr. Pitt is afraid to provide documents confirming these facts. While Angelina is once again asking Mr. Pitt to stop the fight and finally put his family on a clear path to recovery, if Mr. Pitt does not withdraw his lawsuit, Angelina will have no choice but to obtain the evidence necessary to refute his accusations».
Angelina and Brad are raising six children together — Shiloh, Zahara, Maddox, Pax, Knox, and Vivienne. Two years after their wedding, Angelina filed for divorce from Brad in 2016. Since then, the former spouses have been in a legal dispute over finances and other assets. Furthermore, the «Eternals» actress accused the «Once Upon a Time in Hollywood» actor of physically assaulting her in 2016 when they and their children were on a plane together.
According to court documents obtained by Hollywood Life from the Los Angeles Superior Court in 2022, Angelina claimed that she and Brad argued at the back of the plane, and he allegedly «grabbed [her] by the head and shook her». She also claimed that Brad pushed her into the bathroom wall and «struck the plane’s ceiling several times».
For his part, Brad categorically denies Angelina’s accusations. Both actors refrain from discussing the specifics of the incident publicly, instead focusing on protecting the privacy of their children. However, the alleged incident continues to be a major topic in their ongoing legal dispute.
