Dancing with the Stars is very close, and according to reports, Anna Delvey is among the participants.
According to Page Six, the 33-year-old woman, known for her antics posing as a fake heiress, will take part in the 33rd season of the dance competition. Anna previously attracted attention with her fraudulent schemes, which led to her sentencing in 2019 to a minimum of four years in prison. Currently under house arrest, her conditions have reportedly become more lenient, allowing her to work and travel.
Reflecting on her past, Anna told The New York Times in 2022: «I learned so much in prison. There is a very well-documented path of how I treated everything… I regret how everything turned out. The way I tried to look at my experience is to learn from it: who I am today is a result of my past decisions».
She continued: «I perform better under pressure. So many people just can’t wait to see me do something crazy or illegal and go back to prison. I wouldn’t want to give them that satisfaction».
Although Anna’s name may be added to the list of participants this season, a representative for DWTS stated that they do not comment on «rumors», - according to Page Six. She also did not make any comments.
While the full list of 2024 participants has not yet been published, it is reported that Anna has become the second celebrity to join this upcoming season. Earlier, the show announced that Olympian Steven Nedorski will be the first famous dancer, sharing his excitement on Good Morning America on August 22: «I hope to bring a little [gymnastics moves]. I might want to do a few flairs, maybe a backflip or a handstand. I want to have fun».
In addition to the bronze medalist, the rest of the lineup will be announced on GMA on Wednesday, September 4, and will compete in front of judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Derek Hough, along with co-hosts and former DWTS participants Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro. The new season kicks off on September 17 at 8:00 pm Eastern Time and will be available for viewing on Disney+, ABC, and Hulu
