Anya Taylor-Joy sat down with Variety magazine to discuss her marriage, career, and more, and her photoshoot inspired by a swan highlighted the graceful demeanor of the 28-year-old actress. During the conversation with the publication, Anya gushed about her «magical» wedding to husband Malcolm McRae in 2022. Noting that they «hadn't been together for very long», - the «Split» star reminisced about the moment they got married.
«When you know, you know… Malcolm called his family from the church. We were like, 'Heeey!'», - she said. «But they knew — we had been engaged for a while».
She also shared when Malcolm — a musician and frontman of the band More — proposed.
«We were engaged when I was shooting 'Menu'», - she said, referring to the horror comedy that was released in 2022. «We kept it a secret from friends until some newspaper blew it up».

Recalling how she convinced director Denis Villeneuve to cast her in the film, Anya noted that it didn’t take much persuasion.
«Before I even sat down, he said, 'I want you in 'Dune,' but you can’t do it!'», - she explained, referring to her already busy shooting schedule at the time. «I said, 'Please!' I skipped all the stages of grief and went straight to begging. I said, 'I can do this. I can be in Australia and Abu Dhabi at the same time.' He wanted me to be part of the universe. We stayed in touch. I had this feeling that it wasn’t over yet».
Fortunately, while filming her new film «Furiosa», - Anya received a call from Denis, who told her, «'I made a deal with the studio': if I stay within budget and on schedule, I can do it». I told my husband and parents about it, and brought my mom with me. I asked Denis to warn the actors in advance. I said, 'I can’t just show up. Please don’t do that to me'"
