UnitedHealthcare leader Brian Thompson was shot in New York, causing a wide resonance, especially after Luigi Mangione, initially considered an intriguing figure, was arrested in Philadelphia. The Altoona police acted on a tip from a McDonald’s employee who was warned by a customer about a man later identified as Mangione.

26-year-old Mangione is currently in prison in Pennsylvania without bail, fighting extradition to New York, where he is charged with second-degree murder. In addition, he faces charges of violating gun laws in Pennsylvania.

«She has as much experience as anyone, especially in the state court», - said one longtime member of the New York prosecutor’s office to CNN. «She knows every corridor, every judge, every clerk in the court».

Mangione previously represented Thomas Dickey in Pennsylvania. Dickey, who joined the case on Tuesday, told reporters that his client intends to fight extradition back to New York. Mangione was arrested in Altoona, Pennsylvania, where local authorities charged him with carrying a fake ID, 3D-printed weapons, and a silencer.
