Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo understood the task at this year’s Met Gala. Following the theme «In America: A Lexicon of Fashion» of the Costume Institute’s exhibition «In America: A Lexicon of Fashion», - the stars of the musical «Wicked» chose dresses that hinted at the fairy-tale vibes of the night. However, they also embodied their roles from the movie «Wicked».

Ariana, 30, shone in a simple and elegant corset top from Loewe paired with a chiffon skirt. She complemented her outfit with shimmering accents around her eyes, adding a touch of sparkle to her look. While her character from «Wicked», - Glinda, usually wears pink, Ari’s dress was a subtle nod to the light and ethereal role. As for Cynthia, 37, the actress playing Elphaba in the film stunned in a black dress adorned with pink petals throughout its length.

Both women recently appeared together at CinemaCon in Las Vegas to promote their upcoming film, which is set to be released in November. Taking the microphone at the event, Ariana and Cynthia emotionally addressed the audience.

«We both felt a huge responsibility towards these women and poured our hearts, souls, tears — so many different pairs of eyelashes — into it», - began the Nickelodeon alum, with Cynthia adding, «I am very grateful for this journey that we have taken together».

In addition to promoting their long-awaited film, Ariana has been very busy in recent months after releasing her album «Positions» and the single «34+35» — both of which became huge hits after their release. In a previous interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music, the actress of «Don't Look Up» explained why she had «very interesting relationships with music before I went into 'Wicked'».

«I think the break was really healing», - she emphasized. «I think I was hiding from my success or what comes with it. And it really affected my ability to love what I was doing for a long time… it made me dissatisfied for a while. I don’t feel that way anymore. And I feel like I can let go of that and enjoy it, and I feel really proud and grateful for it. It feels completely different».

Returning to the music scene, Ari added that she «loved every minute of creating this album — the videos, rehearsals, preparing for the release, photoshoots — every part of it, more than ever in my life»
