As the 2024 presidential elections approach, more and more celebrities are endorsing candidates. A rare endorsement came from the Terminator himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger. The 77-year-old actor and former governor took to X (formerly known as Twitter) on October 30, 2024, to share: «I don’t really like making endorsements. I’m not shy about expressing my views, but I hate politics and don’t trust most politicians. I also understand that people want to hear from me because I’m not just a celebrity, I’m a former Republican governor. My time in office taught me to love politics and ignore politics».
He added: «Let me be honest with you: I don’t like either party right now. My Republicans have forgotten the charm of the free market, increased deficits, and rejected the election results. Democrats are not doing any better with deficits, and I worry that their local policies may harm our cities by increasing crime».
Expressing his feelings about the upcoming elections, he also shared who he will be voting for.
Although the actor stated that he is currently not a fan of either party, he revealed that he will be voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. He noted: «I'm sharing this with you because I think many of you feel the same way I do. You don’t recognize our country. And you are right to be angry».
Arnold expressed that the former 45th president «will divide, insult, find new ways to be even more unfriendly than he already was, and we, the people, will only get more angry». This led him to support the Democratic Party, stating: «That's enough for me to share my voice with all of you. I want to move forward as a country, and although I have many disagreements with their platform, I think the only way to do this is with Harris and Walz».
In addition to Arnold, Jennifer Aniston, Beyoncé, Eminem, Bad Bunny, and others have endorsed the current Vice President of the United States.
Celebrities who have endorsed Republican candidates Donald Trump and his running mate, J.D. Vance, include Dr. Phil, Tony Hinchcliffe, Mel Gibson, Elon Musk, and others
