Avril Lavigne laughs at the conspiracy theory about her double: «I just find it funny»

Avril Lavigne has been laughing off the conspiracy theory about her doppelganger for many years. During an appearance on the «Call Her Daddy» podcast, the 39-year-old singer of the hit «Girlfriend» discussed these rumors with host Alex Cooper on Wednesday, May 15.
«I just find it funny», - she began. «On one hand, everyone says, 'You look exactly the same. You haven’t aged a day.' But then other people say there’s a conspiracy theory that I’m not me. Honestly, it’s not that bad. It could be worse, right? I think I’m okay. I don’t think it’s anything negative or weird. We’re good».
The pop-punk superstar insists that she is «obviously» the real Avril. After Alex asked if her real name is indeed Avril, the «Sk8er Boi» singer said, «Obviously, it’s me. It’s so silly. I knew you half believed in it».
Nevertheless, Alex couldn’t help but note that Avril hasn’t aged since she became a star in the early 2000s.
«I just find it funny… Honestly, it’s not that bad. It could be worse. Right? I feel like I’m okay! I don’t think it’s anything negative… Obviously, it’s me, it’s so silly».
«I'm telling you, it’s incredible that you haven’t aged», - the podcast host remarked. «I look at you. And, like, picture you with your red hair. And I think, oh my god. You literally look the same as you did back then».
