Ben Platt talked about his proposal to his fiancé Noah Galvin in an interview on the Jennifer Hudson Show on Monday, June 3. The 30-year-old Tony winner enthusiastically spoke about his fiancé and how he inspires his music, but admitted that when the time came to propose, they both did it to each other. The star of the musical «Dear Evan Hansen» said that he made the proposal first, but his future husband asked him to marry him afterwards.
Jennifer Hudson showed a photo of Ben’s romantic proposal, and the actor talked about how he believes being in a same-sex couple is wonderful because they can define their roles in the relationship without any preconceived notions. «I think one of the wonderful things about same-sex relationships — I mean, there are many wonderful things — but there are no preconceived roles», - he said. «So everything feels really equal, and I was able to make him a real princess for the day, and then he did the same for me».
Ben said that after his proposal, Noah came up with a cute way to propose himself. He said that he gave him a task, and then gathered all their friends. «[He] sent me on a treasure hunt and threw me a little barbecue with our friends and gave me a beautiful ring», - he said.
Ben announced his engagement to Noah in November 2022. He shared several photos from his romantic proposal, which included beautiful floral arrangements on Instagram.
