In a new book about Tom Brady’s life, author Lars Anderson examines his breakup with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan and claims that the event is not as straightforward as previously thought. The book «Brady: An American Story and the Price of Greatness» was released on September 29.
Anderson notes that the breakup occurred in December 2006, shortly before Brady began dating model Gisele Bündchen. In February 2007, Moynahan informed Brady that she was pregnant. At that time, Brady had already been dating Bündchen for two months. Following the announcement of Moynahan’s pregnancy, Brady faced criticism for allegedly leaving her to start a new relationship. However, Anderson describes this narrative as «fiction», - citing an assessment from a certified midwife who suggested that the conception date could have been around November 29, 2006, which was two weeks before his first date with Bündchen.
Moynahan gave birth to their son Jack in August 2007, and Brady and Bündchen married in February 2009. They welcomed their son Benjamin in December 2009 and daughter Vivian in December 2012. Brady and Bündchen officially divorced in October 2022 after 13 years of marriage.
Anderson also emphasizes that one cannot tell Brady’s story without mentioning Bündchen, who significantly impacted his life. According to the author, «the rhythm and structure of his life were centered around football», - which ultimately became a source of tension in their marriage.
