Blair Underwood joins the cast of «Doc» for its third season

Blair Underwood has joined the third season of the series «Doc», - which he announced in an interview with Terri Seymour for Extra.
Underwood’s character, Dr. Ben Grant, was introduced in the season two finale. He is a top-notch trauma surgeon and cardiothoracic surgeon with quite a large ego and a romantic past with Dr. Amy Larson, played by Molly Parker. Underwood noted that their characters have «conflict and clashing opinions», - as both are used to being the smartest in the room.
The actor also shared that he enjoys portraying a doctor, expressing respect for the medical profession, especially for cardiothoracic surgeons. He mentioned that the entire cast welcomed him «with open arms».
Underwood has previously played doctors, including in the series «Sex and the City», - where his character was a physician for the New York Knicks. The third season of «Doc» premieres on September 22 on FOX.
