Boxer Kishon Porter accused of murdering 2-year-old boy

Boxer Kishon Porter has been accused of murdering his girlfriend’s two-year-old son following the child’s death. This was reported by Maricopa County Prosecutor Rachel Mitchell in a press release on October 15.
The incident occurred on September 29, when Porter, 23, was watching three of his girlfriend’s children aged 2, 3, and 4. At 4 a.m., he called emergency services and stated that the boy had fallen from a bunk bed. The child was taken to Banner Desert Hospital, where suspicious injuries to his body and ribs were discovered. Later that same day, the boy was pronounced dead.
Porter has been charged with first-degree murder and child abuse. It is currently unclear whether he has entered a plea or hired an attorney following his arrest. A court hearing for Porter’s case is scheduled for June 2027.
According to the prosecutor, Porter repeatedly struck the boy using his hands or sandals. An autopsy conducted on September 30 revealed that the child had catastrophic internal injuries, including broken ribs and ruptured internal organs. Experts also noted that such injuries were unlikely to have been sustained from a fall.
According to the findings of the medical examiner, significant force is required to rupture the stomach, and the injuries indicate child abuse. Additionally, investigators suspect that Porter may have previously abused his own one-year-old child.
