Kelly and Brandon never explained the reasons for their breakup, but Kelly cited «irreconcilable differences» in her divorce petition in June 2020. For about two years, the former spouses argued over finances, including their property in Montana. After Kelly was appointed primary physical custodian of their children, River and Remington, she had to pay Brandon over $ 1 million upfront, as well as $ 115,000 in monthly alimony.
