Brandon and Sierra Britten arrested for kidnapping a girl

A couple has been arrested in Arkansas, accused of kidnapping and raping a 12-year-old girl they met online. Brandon Lee Britten and his companion Sierra Dun Britten were taken into custody after the girl was found in their home.
According to authorities, Brandon faces charges of rape, child online stalking, and traveling to engage in illegal sexual conduct with a minor. Sierra is also charged as an accomplice. The case came to light on September 9, when the Spartanburg County Sheriff contacted the Independence County Sheriff regarding the missing girl.
Investigators determined that the girl had been abducted in a black Chevrolet Malibu with Arkansas plates. The vehicle was traced to Brandon, and authorities headed to his home in Independence County. Upon arrival, they found the car parked outside and attempted to make contact with those inside. Eventually, Brandon and Sierra opened the door.
Brandon stated that the girl was inside, after which he was arrested. At that time, Sierra reportedly returned inside the house and tried to prevent officers from reaching the girl. During a search, law enforcement found her in the bathroom. The girl was taken to a Child Safety Center, where she underwent a forensic interview and medical examination.
During the interrogation, the girl revealed that she had been communicating with Brandon and Sierra online, believing she was talking to a 15-year-old boy, with Sierra being his neighbor. She also claimed that Brandon had sexually assaulted her when she arrived at their home.
Sierra confirmed that they had been in contact with the girl for about a month and had exchanged explicit images. She also admitted to helping arrange Brandon’s trip to South Carolina to pick up the girl.
Sierra initially stated that she thought the girl was 18 years old, but later changed her mind to 14. The investigation is ongoing. After the arrest, the Independence County Sheriff announced on social media that bail for Brandon and Sierra has been set at $ 1 million each. It is currently unclear whether they have made any statements or hired attorneys.
