Brandon Sklenar wants everyone to know that the social media drama surrounding the actors of the movie «It Ends With Us» does not reflect the message of the film. The 34-year-old actor, who played Atlas Corrigan in the film, broke his silence about «all this swirling online activity» on Monday, August 19, in an Instagram post. Although he did not name them, Brandon’s statement hinted at speculation about alleged tension between his co-stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.

«[Author] Colleen [Hoover] and the women of this cast stand for hope, perseverance, and for women choosing a better life for themselves», - Brandon insisted at the beginning of his message. «To vilify the women who have put so much of their hearts and souls into creating this film because they believe so strongly in its message seems counterproductive and distracts from what this film is about. It’s actually contrary to the meaning».

Brandon went on to explain: «What may or may not have happened behind the scenes should not and, hopefully, should not distract from our intentions in creating this film». He also added that «it was disappointing to see so much negativity online».

Throughout his statement, the 1923 star pleaded with fans to «trust» him when he says that «there was not one person involved in the making of this film who did not understand the responsibility we carried». He also explained that the responsibility was to «all women who have experienced generational trauma, domestic violence, or struggled to look in the mirror and love what they see».

Brandon concluded his statement by explaining the meaning of their film and urging fans to stop spreading «hate online».

«This film is a tough, real lesson for men who need to get themselves together and take responsibility for themselves and their actions», - he wrote. «This film is meant to inspire. It is meant to affirm and acknowledge. It is meant to instill hope. It is meant to strengthen courage and help people feel less alone. Ultimately, it is meant to spread love and awareness. It is not meant to make women 'bad guys' again, let’s move forward together».

After its premiere on August 9, «It Ends With Us» became a box office hit. However, several sources reported that disagreements arose between the actor and director Justin, 40, and the film star Blake, 36. Additionally, the «Gossip Girl» actress faced criticism for past interviews and comments that resurfaced.

Neither Blake nor Justin have publicly commented on the rumors of alleged discord between them. However, Justin has hired a crisis PR manager in response to the current situation.
