Brady Harmon shared his feelings about the loss of his four children three months after their mother, Sarah Myers, and grandmother, Amy Steadman, killed them in a murder-suicide.
In his Facebook post on September 11, Harmon stated that his children — Harper (13), Hudson (11), and twins Gavin and Gracelyn (10) — were poisoned with allergy medications and an ingredient found in heroin sold at gas stations. He noted that it had been 90 days since the tragedy and expressed bewilderment at how two people who claimed to love the children could inflict such unimaginable pain on them.
Harmon added that the pain of loss is still fresh, and the toxicology results make the situation even more horrific. According to previously published information, Myers and Steadman used diphenhydramine, the active ingredient in Benadryl, and kratom — a psychoactive extract that can be deadly in large doses.
He emphasized that his children were innocent and deserved a safe life, the chance to grow up, and to pursue their dreams. Harmon also mentioned that he would continue to speak their names and fight to ensure that their lives and what happened to them are never forgotten.
The tragedy occurred on June 10 at their home in Mechanicville, New York. Gavin was fatally injured while trying to protect himself from Myers and Steadman. At that time, Harmon, who lives in Utah, was preparing to see the children in person for the first time since 2019.
According to authorities, Myers and Steadman left letters at the crime scene in which Myers claimed that Harmon was abusive to her and the children, and that she killed the children to protect them from alleged violence on his part. Harmon denied these accusations.
