Bridget Marquardt supported Jessica Biel in her decision to play the role of Hugh Hefner’s wife in the upcoming film, despite a public call from Crystal Hefner, Hefner’s former wife, to reconsider that decision. On the «TMZ Podcast», - Marquardt noted that, in her opinion, Biel should not respond to criticism, as it may be an attempt to gain attention.
Earlier this month, Variety reported that Biel had been cast in the film about Playmates, where her character will be based on Hefner. The film is written and directed by Lorraine Nicholson, the daughter of Oscar winner Jack Nicholson, who spent a lot of time at the Playboy mansion during her childhood. The cast also includes Lily-Rose Depp, Bill Pullman, and Indiana Elle. Pullman will portray Hefner himself.
Marquardt added that Crystal may not fully understand the timeline of the project and expressed hope that Lorraine will be able to tell her story based on her experiences at the mansion in the early 1990s. Crystal Hefner, for her part, previously wrote on Instagram that she hopes everyone involved in the film will listen to the women who lived in that environment before turning it into nostalgia.
Marquardt emphasized that every woman who has been in the mansion has the right to tell her story, and she does not like that someone is trying to prevent others from sharing their experiences. In a separate interview with TMZ, former «Girls Next Door» star Holly Madison also expressed her support for Biel and looks forward to the film’s release.
