After the news broke that her son Tripp Easton is moving back to his home state to live with his father, Bristol Palin shares «heartbreaking» details of how her only son informed her of his decision.
«He just texted me: 'Hey mom, I’m not coming back'», - recalls Bristol, the daughter of Todd and Sarah Palin, in an episode of Cheryl Burke’s podcast «Sex, Lies, and Tan».
Palin, who lives in Texas with her daughters Sailor Grace, 8, and Atlee Bay, 7, from her previous marriage to Dakota Meyer, shares custody of her 15-year-old son Tripp with her ex-fiancé Levi Johnston.
«At first I said, 'I'm coming to Alaska. We’re not doing this'. I was so mad, so mad», - confesses the mother of three, 33, adding that Tripp used to spend a few weeks in Alaska with Johnston, 34, and then return to her in Texas, while she splits her time evenly with her daughters and Meyer, 36.
«It still breaks my heart», - explains the Teen Mom OG participant. «It was just Tripp and me, and then I had the girls, but it was always Tripp and me. It changed a lot».
«But this is one of those things where he’s almost 16. He needs his dad. And he needs those relationships», - Bristol continues. «He thinks this is best right now, and all I can do is hope and pray that it’s the best».
«Selfishly, I just want him with me forever. He’s my best friend. My kids are my whole world», - she says. «But I can’t be selfish about this. He needs to strengthen those relationships, and I just have to support them».
Earlier this month, Palin announced on Instagram that Tripp does not live with her in Texas, showing her daughters getting ready to go back to school.
