Busy Philipps shared positive news about her health six months after her brain surgery. In an interview with People on September 30, the actress revealed that her oncologist informed her of a clean scan result.
Philipps, who is 47 years old, announced her diagnosis of a rare brain tumor in August, which was determined after a full body scan in February. She admitted that she felt a lot of anxiety at that moment. According to her neuro-oncologist, the tumor is considered malignant but has a better prognosis than other malignant gliomas. In March, Philipps underwent surgery during which doctors removed a tumor measuring 2.6 centimeters. Following that, she required a second surgery due to an infection at the incision site, which was also successful.
Philipps noted that on the day she received her diagnosis, she landed a role in a new television show. Doctors assured her that she would be able to return to the set four weeks after the surgery, and that is exactly what happened. The actress also shared that she received a lot of support from people who thanked her for her openness about health issues and encouraged women to listen to their bodies.
