Morgan Wallen’s ex-girlfriend, Katie «KT» Smith, spoke out about rumors that the incident where he allegedly threw a chair off the roof of a bar in Nashville was related to her announcement of her wedding in an interview with The Daily Beast on Monday, April 8. Despite reports that the 30-year-old «One Thing At a Time» singer was thrown into a tailspin because of his ex’s wedding, KT said she didn’t necessarily think that was the case.
Morgan was arrested on Sunday, April 7. He faces three charges of reckless endangerment after allegedly throwing a chair off the roof of Eric Church’s bar. His bail was set at $ 15,250, and he was released within a few hours. His court hearing is scheduled for May 3. Shortly after the arrest, a source claimed that KT’s marriage to fellow influencer Luke Scornavacco «just crushed» Morgan in a message to the Daily Mail. «Whatever happened in that bar, it must have been a reality check, hitting him in the face because of the loss of the love of his life», - they told the publication.
Despite the message, KT clarified that she has no reason to believe that was the case. «While it seems related because of the timeline», - she told the Daily Beast. «I have no evidence to believe that the incident was related to the recent announcement of the wedding».
KT further explained that she hopes for the best for her ex. «I can’t speak on Morgan’s behalf, but I pray for the best for him. I pray that this was just a misstep and that he will get back on the right path he was on before», - she said.
KT revealed that she and Luke got married in an Instagram post on April 3. Morgan and KT dated for about three years, and they were even briefly engaged. Despite calling off the engagement, they remained together for some time after. They also have a son, who was born in 2020
