Paul Bissonnette, a former hockey player for the Arizona Coyotes, also known as «Biz», was attacked in a bar in Scottsdale, Arizona. The 39-year-old Bissonnette spoke out about the fight for the first time in a video on social media on Tuesday, November 26.
In the video, which he shared on X, a co-host of the «Spittin' Chiclets» podcast noted that the men who attacked him were «just bad guys» and were «too drunk», adding: «I am very, very angry at these guys and I want their names to be known».
Last weekend, Bissonnette went to dinner at a local restaurant in Scottsdale, which he said he visits «three [or] four times a week».
«At some point, a fight broke out in the bar», - Bissonnette said in his video on X (formerly known as Twitter), which was posted on Monday, November 25. «They were drunk golfers. The situation obviously kept escalating. They [asked] one guy to leave, and one of them kept taunting the manager and even held him by the arm. This went on, probably, for 30, 45 minutes».
Seeing the group harassing the restaurant manager, Bissonnette claimed that he «just grabbed the guy by the arm» and told him: «Sir, if you continue to harass and attack the staff, we will have problems». At that moment, the group of golfers «started acting», Biz claimed.
«The situation escalated very quickly», - explained the former NHL player, adding that the fight took place both inside the restaurant and outside in the parking lot. «I was knocked down a couple of times. I was hit on the head three times with a boot».
Although he was not «knocked out», Bissonnette had to go to the hospital. Therefore, he wanted to clarify to his followers that he is physically okay, and emphasized that he wants the attackers to be identified.
«Just bad guys. Too drunk, and I don’t know what else was in their blood», - Bissonnette explained. «But, yes, I am very, very angry at these guys and I want their names to be known and for them to be punished».
Bissonnette suffered minor injuries during the fight, which he showed on camera in his video on X. His podcast co-host at Barstool Sports, Ryan Whitney, shared photos of the six attackers through X. Barstool owner Dave Portnoy also shared photos, tweeting that the attackers «picked the wrong guy» to fight.
According to Fox10 Phoenix, the names of the attackers on Bissonnette are Danny Bradley, John G. Carroll, William J. Carroll, Sean Daly, Edward Jennings, and Henry Mesker. All were arrested; five of the six men face charges of minor offenses, and one of them faces a criminal charge, the publication reported.
