Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has always been an advocate for women’s health. When it comes to her own health, the politician usually keeps details away from the public eye. Now, as she has been hospitalized due to an unknown injury in Luxembourg, many are wondering what happened to Pelosi and whether her health is in good condition.

Pelosi has not publicly spoken about any personal health issues. The Democrat apparently takes care of her health, traveling around the world and participating in public events.

How old is Nancy Pelosi today?

Former Speaker Pelosi is 84 years old as of December 2024.

Originally from Maryland, she has supported legislation aimed at protecting women’s reproductive health. In response to the overturning of Roe v. Wade in 2022, Pelosi made a statement accusing the Republican Party of finally achieving its dark, dangerous, long-term goal: «depriving women of the freedom to make the most fundamental decisions. About their bodies, their health, their lives».

«After Republicans captured the Supreme Court and overturned Roe v. Wade, at least nine states controlled by Republicans have already banned abortions», - Pelosi continued. «Most of them have imposed draconian restrictions, making it practically impossible to exercise this fundamental right. Such extreme measures have forced countless women to seek reproductive assistance in neighboring states».

Pelosi concluded by advocating for the Women’s Reproductive Freedom Guarantee Act, which would help women travel and thus «receive necessary medical care», - as well as protect «providers of reproductive services and all those who help women access these services».

Pelosi’s press secretary Ian Greger released the following statement explaining what happened to Pelosi during a visit to Luxembourg to mark the anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge: «While in Luxembourg as part of a bipartisan Congressional delegation to mark the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, former Speaker Nancy Pelosi sustained an injury during an official event and was hospitalized for evaluation. Former Speaker Pelosi is currently receiving excellent treatment from doctors and medical specialists».

Greger also noted that Pelosi is working from the hospital and regrets that she «cannot attend the remaining CODEL events to honor the courage of our servicemen during one of the greatest acts of American heroism in our nation’s history».

«Former Speaker Pelosi expresses her gratitude and praise to our veterans and gratitude to the people of Luxembourg and Bastogne for their service in World War II and their role in achieving peace in Europe», - the statement continues. «Former Speaker Pelosi was personally and officially honored to travel with an outstanding delegation, many of whom had family members who fought in World War II, including her uncle, Johnny. She looks forward to returning home to the USA soon»
