TikTok, along with CapCut — a free video editing app, was shut down for all American influencers and users due to the long-awaited ban. However, the ban on TikTok was lifted in less than 24 hours, leaving many puzzled about when CapCut might return.
When users try to log into the app, they receive the following message: «Sorry, CapCut is currently unavailable. A law banning CapCut has been passed in the USA. Unfortunately, this means you cannot use CapCut at this time. Rest assured, we are working on restoring our service in the USA. Please stay tuned!»

TikTok suddenly returned for users and influencers. Their feeds have returned to normal, and everyone can now post new videos on their accounts.
TikTok released a statement after restoring the service for users in the USA. The platform noted that there was an «agreement» with providers to restore the app for Americans, and thanked Donald Trump for his involvement.
«According to our service providers, TikTok is in the process of restoring the service», - the statement read. «We thank President Trump for providing the necessary clarity and assurance to our service providers that they will not be punished for providing TikTok to over 170 million Americans and enabling over 7 million small businesses to thrive. This is a strong defense of the First Amendment and against arbitrary censorship. We will work with President Trump on a long-term solution that will keep TikTok in the United States».
CapCut is a free, user-friendly video editing app developed by ByteDance, the same company behind TikTok. It allows users to create and edit videos using a wide range of tools and features, which is particularly popular among TikTok creators looking to enhance their content.
The CapCut editing app remains unavailable, despite TikTok being restored over the weekend. When users try to log in, they still receive the message: «Sorry, CapCut is currently unavailable. A law banning CapCut has been passed in the USA. Unfortunately, this means you cannot use CapCut at this time. Rest assured, we are working on restoring our service in the USA. Please stay tuned!»
The return of CapCut remains uncertain at this time. Meanwhile, Instagram has announced a new feature called Edits, which is their own video editing service.
According to NewsWeek, ByteDance owns CapCut, Lemon 8, Gauth, Hypic, Lark, Melolo, Fizzo, Tokopedia, and Marvel Snap
