CARA returns to music with the album THE KRONICLES: the story of life and music

American singer and songwriter Kara Kuchi, now professionally known as KARA, is returning to music with her debut album titled THE KRONICLES. Its anthology is dynamic and expressive, reflecting motifs ranging from her time as a singer in Manhattan, to her journey as a cannabis producer right in the heart of Los Angeles in Boyle Heights, and, most sincerely, THE KRONICLES pays tribute to her brother and mother, whom she tragically lost. Through the growth and strength she experienced in her trials and tribulations, hailing from Corpus Christi, Texas, KARA has crafted her album as an autobiographical series of chapters detailing the authentic and vivid stories of her life.
In the album’s first single «BLVD», - KARA uses her Los Angeles home as her muse — its lyrics dedicated to the city that is her sanctuary. Reflecting on the intersecting plots of the diverse characters that make up Los Angeles, KARA wrote «BLVD» as a celebration of uncompromising self-expression. «BLVD» also features a flute solo by KARA, which she will incorporate into her live performances.
THE KRONICLES also features the late Gangsta Boo from Three 6 Mafia. «I grew up listening to Gangsta Boo and Three 6 Mafia performing 'YEA HOE,' so stepping into the vocal booth with Lola to rap 'YEA HOE' alongside her was one of the best and most memorable moments in my career», - recalled KARA, reflecting on the processes of her debut album.
At the beginning of her career, KARA released several songs, including «Away from You, Jump Smokers Remix» and «FIGHT», - her official remake of the Beastie Boys' song «Fight for Your Right to Party» — which was licensed by SONY ATV and approved by Beastie Boys and American record producer Rick Rubin. KARA has opened for artists such as Lil Jon, Mike Jones, Soulja Boy, and SOMO.
After returning to music following her time in cannabis production, KARA underwent a creative and personal transformation, evident in her infectious and sometimes heart-wrenching songwriting. After the heavy loss of her brother and mother, KARA used THE KRONICLES as a platform to channel her grief and heal from her experiences; the result is nothing short of raw, powerful, and authentic.
