Cardi B gave birth to her third child with her estranged husband, Offset. The 31-year-old rapper announced the news via Instagram on Thursday, September 12, revealing that her baby girl was born on September 7. The news came just one month after Cardi filed for divorce from the 32-year-old Migos rapper.
«The sweetest baby girl 🌸🌸 9/7/24», - Cardi captioned her post on Instagram. She and Offset are also parents to children Kulture and Kulture.
In her photo gallery, the «WAP» hitmaker included pictures of her family welcoming the new baby. Additionally, Cardi included a picture of herself lying in a hospital bed shortly after giving birth.
The arrival of Cardi’s third child came a month after she announced her pregnancy, while simultaneously filing for divorce from Offset.
«With every end comes a new beginning!» the «I Like It» hitmaker wrote in an Instagram post on August 1.
In her caption, Cardi addressed her then unborn child, thanking her for bringing «more love» and «more life» to her.
«I am so grateful that I shared this time with you, you brought me more love, more life, and most importantly, renewed my strength!» the mother of three wrote at the time. «You reminded me that I can have it all! You reminded me that I will never have to choose between life, love, and my passions! I love you so much and can’t wait for you to see what you helped me achieve, what you pushed me towards. It’s so much easier to take the turns, twists, and trials of life lying down, but you, your brother, and your sister showed me why it’s worth overcoming!»
Cardi and Offset have had a tumultuous relationship for many years. After getting married in 2017, the «Bodak Yellow» hitmaker and the «Open It Up» rapper split up a year later. Although they reconciled in 2019, Cardi filed for divorce from Offset in 2020. She then canceled the separation. However, in 2023, the couple split up again.
Earlier this year, Cardi discussed their on-again, off-again relationship during an interview with Rolling Stone.
«We're all weighing it out because we love each other», - she told the publication in May. «It's not even about love. We’re best friends. And it’s like, 'Okay. Well, there was a time when I didn’t have a best friend or support.' It’s not even about 'How do you leave a partner?' How do you stop talking to your best friend?»
