Cassie Ventura spoke out a few days after CNN released surveillance video from 2016 showing Sean «Diddy» Combs attacking singer «Me & U». In a new social media post, Cassie, 37, expressed gratitude for the support she has received from friends and strangers.

«A downpour of love has created a place where my younger self can settle in and feel safe now, but this is just the beginning», - she wrote on Instagram on Thursday, May 23. «Domestic violence is a problem. It has shattered me into someone I never thought I would become. I am better today with great difficulty, but I will always be recovering from the past».

Cassie thanked those who «took this matter seriously». She then shared her plea to those following her journey.

«My only request is to open your heart and believe the victims the first time», - the model said. «It takes a lot of strength to speak the truth from a situation where you were powerless. I reach out to those who still live in fear. Reach out to your people, do not isolate yourself. No one should carry this burden alone».

Cassie, who shares daughters Frankie, 4, and Sunny, 2, with husband Alex Fine, concluded her message by sharing that her journey to peace continues. «This path of healing is endless», - she said, «but this support means everything to me».

Cassie’s statement came after CNN released a video showing Diddy, 54, kicking his then-partner in a Los Angeles hotel in 2016. This incident was described in Cassie’s lawsuit against her ex, in which she accused him of rape and violence.

Diddy denied Cassie’s accusations at the time and settled the lawsuit the next day. His lawyer added that the rapper’s decision to settle the lawsuit in no way constitutes an admission of guilt.

A few days after the video was released, Diddy appeared in a video on social media and apologized for his behavior.

«It's so hard to remember the darkest moments of your life, but sometimes you have to do it», - he said in an Instagram video, without mentioning Cassie. «I was horrified. I hit rock bottom. But I’m not looking for excuses. My behavior in that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video».

«I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now», - continued the founder of Bad Boy Records. «I went and sought professional help. I had to go to therapy, to rehab. I had to ask God for His mercy and grace. I regret so much. But I am obligated to become a better person every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness. I sincerely regret».
