Celine Dion is not on good terms with Donald J. Trump after he used her famous hit «My Heart Will Go On» during his pre-election rally.

On Friday, August 9, the 78-year-old former president played the 1997 song from the movie «Titanic» as his anthem, but the team of the 56-year-old vocalist stated that his use of the song was unauthorized.

In a statement published on X, her management wrote: «Today, Celine Dion’s management team and her record label Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc. learned about the unauthorized use of video, recording, musical performance, and image of Celine Dion performing 'My Heart Will Go On' at Donald Trump/J.D. Vance’s pre-election rally in Montana».

They continued to emphasize: «This use is not authorized, and Celine Dion does not endorse this or any similar use… And really, THIS song?»

This is not the first time the performer of the hit «It's All Coming Back to Me Now» has expressed a desire not to be associated with the former 45th president. Back in 2017, she declined his request to perform at his inauguration at the White House.

In addition to Dion, many other musicians, such as Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, and others, have also expressed a desire not to be associated with the Republican candidate. John Fogerty of the late 60s group Creedence Clearwater Revival wrote to Trump after he used their song «Fortunate Son». Through Rolling Stone, he noted: «Mr. Trump is a prime example of both of these problems. The fact that Mr. Trump also fans the flames of hatred, racism, and fear, rewriting recent history, gives even more cause for concern over his use of my song».

The Rolling Stones also expressed their disapproval, according to Deadline, later stating that the band’s team shared: «BMI notified the Trump campaign on behalf of the Stones that unauthorized use of their songs would be a violation of their licensing agreement. If Donald Trump ignores the exclusion and continues, he will face a lawsuit for violating the embargo and reproducing music that was not licensed».

It is unclear which song Trump will play next at his rally, but he is determined to fight for the presidential election alongside J.D. Vance against his Democratic opponents Kamala Harris and Tim Walz
