Chuck Lorre responded to the White House’s statement that he should «seek psychiatric help» following his criticism of President Donald Trump. At the end of an episode of his show «George & Mandy», - which aired on October 8, Lorre posted a message on his signature card.
«Recently, a representative of the White House announced that I need psychiatric help», - he wrote in the message. «I'm not opposed to that. I’m not a big fan of mood-altering drugs or electroshock therapy, but I wouldn’t mind talking to a professional who gently encourages me to address childhood experiences that negatively affect my thinking and behavior».
Lorre also jokingly listed possible reasons for his «madness». He noted that «a possible culprit could be the weekly nuclear bomb shelter drills at school», - and added that it might be worth investigating whether environmental toxins could be the cause of his «madness».
The creator of «The Big Bang Theory» sarcastically added, «Regardless of how we proceed, I appreciate this public concern for my mental health. It’s comforting to know that my government cares about me».
Lorre found himself at odds with the White House after he criticized Trump in his speech at the Founders Award ceremony at the Project Angel Food charity gala in Los Angeles on September 26. In his speech, he referred to the president as «a bloated orange piece of s**t in the White House» and joked about his alleged connections to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
A few days later, the White House responded, with spokesperson Davis Engel stating in an interview with Fox News Digital that «Chuck Lorre should seek psychiatric help immediately to treat his severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, which has completely rotted his little brain».
