Charles Kelley of Lady A announced blood cancer diagnosis

Lady A singer Charles Kelley has announced his diagnosis of a rare type of blood cancer. In an Instagram video recorded with his wife Cassie, Kelley shared that random rib fractures prompted tests, which led to a diagnosis of multiple myeloma.

Despite the serious diagnosis, Kelley remains optimistic. He noted that he feels healthy and that modern treatment methods have significantly improved over the past five years, positively impacting prognosis. Kelley also mentioned that he has a friend who is going through a similar illness, and her experience has helped him cope with the situation.

According to Kelley, the first six months of treatment will not be too invasive, and he will be able to perform at the group’s Christmas concerts. He emphasized his desire to continue doing what he loves, despite the tough days.

Charles explained his decision to share the news by saying it helps lift a weight off his shoulders and reduces the power of fear. He urged everyone to approach the situation with optimism and highlighted the importance of taking «one day at a time».
