Princess Diana’s brother, Charles Spencer, informed his nephews, Princes William and Harry, about the release of his new book. In an interview with People magazine published on September 21, Spencer shared that Harry reacted calmly to the news and expressed hope that there would be nothing compromising for him in the book.
In his memoir titled «The Last Swan: Diana, My Sister», - Spencer explores his relationship with his former brother-in-law, King Charles, as well as his connection with Princess Diana and her struggles with public life before her death. He noted that some family members were concerned about the book’s content, but he assured that William and Harry are portrayed as examples of two boys with an exceptional mother, without invading their privacy.
Spencer also expressed concerns about how the brothers would perceive his description of their father. He mentioned that he could have included many scandalous details about King Charles but has no intention of doing so. While «The Last Swan» promises to be an intimate and sincere portrait of Princess Diana, Spencer kept the details of the book a secret even from his sisters, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane Fellowes, who learned about the project later and were surprised.
