Chelsea Freeman and her husband, former Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman, have their hands full raising their three sons: Frederick «Charlie» Charles II, Brandon John, and Maximus «Max» Turner. During an exclusive interview with Hollywood Life, 33-year-old Chelsea opened up about her children’s love for sports, promoting her latest partnership with OFF!® Mosquito and Tick Repellents.
«Raising three boys, I’ve realized that compromise is an essential part», - Chelsea said, pointing out that OFF! repellent «makes it easy to protect the family at the stadium and beyond» — not to mention that the product is odorless and non-greasy.
As the baseball season coincides with warm weather, Chelsea Freeman, the founder of the collection, admitted that her 8-year-old son Charlie is gearing up for Little League, meaning insect repellent is a necessity. As for Brandon, 4, and Max, 4, the younger brothers prefer a different type of sport.
«They have a lot of energy that they need to burn off», - Chelsea added about her children. «My oldest is completely obsessed with baseball. He lives and breathes baseball. The younger two, Brandon — my middle one, he loves soccer. … And my youngest, Max, also loves baseball and golf».
Raising three children is no easy task, even though Chelsea and 35-year-old Freddie are accustomed to the challenges that come with life in MLB. But there is another aspect that Chelsea emphasized as important: spending quality time with her husband.
«We really don’t have a lot of free time, but we prefer to stay at home», - noted the mother of three before mentioning that she and Freddie celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary in Mexico. «Even as parents, I feel like you also have to take care of yourself to be the best parents for your children», - she added.
Fortunately, hailing from Florida, Chelsea also receives help from Freddie’s family, who live in California. Being a public figure carries many responsibilities, so if Chelsea ever needs help with the children, she has a team nearby.
«I think it’s just having a really good support system», - Chelsea told Hollywood Life. «If I have a meeting or I’m flying somewhere, my kids are being taken care of and with family».
While her children are her priority, Chelsea revealed another reason why her partnership with OFF! is important. A former real estate agent, she recalled that her mother was misdiagnosed with Lyme disease for a long time.
«What many don’t know about me is that my mom was bitten by a tick as a child during a hike and got Lyme disease, and she was misdiagnosed for a long time», - Chelsea said. «So I saw how awful it was for her to go through that disease. So prevention, like using OFF! insect repellent, is very important to me to prevent this — for my family, my children»
