Dag Mason spoke about the difficulties of being compared to his ex-partner Taylor Frankie Paul, Dakota Mortensen, during his participation in the 22nd season of «The Bachelor». In an interview on the podcast «Bachelor Happy Hour» on October 13, he noted that he could not avoid these comparisons during a group date, which significantly affected his interaction with Taylor.
According to Dag, when Dakota was mentioned on the date, Taylor’s energy changed dramatically, and she began to see him as the «bad guy». He mentioned that he felt like a replacement for Taylor for two months, as after their breakup, she returned to Dakota. Dag also expressed disappointment that Taylor did not defend him when someone implied that he embodied all of Dakota’s negative qualities.
Despite the tense situation, Dag decided to leave the date, realizing that he did not want to leave Taylor in that state. He added that although ABC has not made a final decision about airing the season with Taylor, she confirmed her engagement to Dag on another show.
It is worth noting that a few days ago, ABC pulled the season of «The Bachelor» featuring Taylor due to an investigation into a domestic violence case involving her and Dakota. Dakota has denied all allegations, and the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office declined to file criminal charges. Taylor is also involved in two legal disputes regarding child custody.
