Dana Walden did not reveal the future of Jimmy Kimmel’s show
The future of Jimmy Kimmel’s evening show, «Jimmy Kimmel Live!», remains undisclosed. Dana Walden, President and Chief Creative Officer of Disney, stated that she would not make any official announcements on this topic during the Bloomberg Screentime session on October 1, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

Kimmel has hosted «Jimmy Kimmel Live!» since 2003. Recently, there have been rumors that the comedian’s contract will not be renewed; however, ABC has denied these claims. Other sources have suggested that the network is seeking significant budget cuts to keep the show on the air.

Walden noted that «this is a very challenging time». She emphasized that Kimmel is doing a great job and his ratings are increasing, but this rise is associated with a smaller audience watching late-night shows on broadcast television. She also acknowledged that Kimmel’s success on YouTube and social media does not generate the same revenue as broadcast advertising.

According to Walden, Disney is trying to navigate the situation, taking into account Kimmel’s desires and the interests of the business. She added that she has a good relationship and friendship with Kimmel.

The show was temporarily taken off the air in September 2025 following controversial comments made by Kimmel about Charlie Kirk. In an interview, he mentioned that ABC decided to suspend the show, and he disagreed with that decision. «I thought that was the end», - he recalled. However, «Jimmy Kimmel Live!» returned to the air six days later, and ABC extended the contract for another year.
