Deborah Norville: «Thank you to the viewers for their attention to my health»

«We live in a world where you see something, you talk about it, and I’m really glad that we do that», - Norville said in a video announcement. «When you work on television, viewers comment on everything. Your hair, makeup, the dress you’re wearing. And a long time ago, a viewer of the program Inside Edition reached out to me, saying she saw something on my neck. It was a lump. I never noticed this thing, but I still checked it and the doctor said it was nothing serious, a thyroid nodule».
«For many years it was nothing», - she added. «But recently it became something. The doctor said it’s a very localized form of cancer, and tomorrow I have to have surgery to remove it. There won’t be chemotherapy. I was told I won’t need radiation, but I will have to have the surgery, and I will be taking a short break, so Diana will be holding down the fort».
In 1976, she represented all of Georgia in the America’s Junior Miss competition. Later, she became the host of the America’s Junior Miss competition.
She also had a perfect 4.0 grade point average and graduated with honors.
Deborah later became a co-host of the Today show in 1990 and won an Emmy award. She later joined Inside Edition in 1995
