Matthew Stone’s grandfather shot seven relatives and a friend

On October 9, 2026, a tragedy occurred in Pennsylvania, where a grandfather killed seven members of his family and a family friend before taking his own life. According to authorities, the incident took place in a home in Erie, where police found two women shot outside, while seven other victims, including the shooter, were found dead inside.

The shooter was identified as Matthew Stone Sr., who killed his pregnant daughter Angelina Stone, her children Isaiah and Amarianna, his sons Matthew Stone Jr. and Jonathan Stone, as well as his wife Michelle Stone. He then shot relative Laura Roberts and family friend Twila Tanner before taking his own life. Erie Police Chief Rick Lorah noted that the situation was horrific and that, in his opinion, there was a mental health issue involved.

Angelina Stone was just days away from giving birth, expecting a son whom she planned to name Kyrie. On social media, she had shared ultrasound photos and expressed joy about her upcoming motherhood.

Laura Roberts and Twila Tanner became the last victims when they came to help and were shot while trying to find out what was happening. The police are currently continuing their investigation, trying to establish the motives and circumstances of the tragedy.
