High-Flyer co-founder Lyan Wenfeng introduced the hedge fund in 2016, and eventually DeepSeek was established in 2023. Reportedly, Wenfeng had acquired tens of thousands of Nvidia A100 graphics processors before the US government imposed restrictions on AI chips in China.
