Before moving to Los Angeles, Delaney grew up in Idaho.

The fake culinary education story paid off for Delaney, as she landed a job with the late Stan Lee. He was her first client, but the comic book writer ultimately fired her because «she was hired to make healthy food» and instead «made him red lentil dal and said, 'I want a fork from Dan Tana’s, what are you doing?'»
