Diane Keaton’s children shared touching posts in honor of the first anniversary of her death. The actress’s daughter Dexter White and son Duke Keaton posted their messages on Instagram on October 11, 2026, to commemorate their mother, who passed away from bacterial pneumonia in 2025 at the age of 79.

Dexter began her post with the words, «A year without you, Mom», - and shared a black-and-white photo of herself standing next to her mother on her wedding day in 2021. She noted that «it feels like it was yesterday and at the same time an eternity ago», - adding that she misses the chance to call her mother, hug her, or go on adventures with her. Dexter also expressed her love and longing for her mother.

Duke, for his part, posted a carousel of three photos of himself spending time with his mother over the years, captioning the post: «I love you, Mom. Thinking of you every day». In the comments on his post, friends offered their support, including Sarah Paulson, who had previously shared her own tribute to Diane. Paulson wrote, «A year. Unbelievable. The laughter with you will always be what I remember most. I love you».

While this was Duke’s first post on Instagram, Dexter had previously honored her mother’s memory several times on social media. In May, she shared photos in celebration of Mother’s Day, writing that she misses Diane’s voice, hugs, and presence.

According to People magazine, Diane Keaton’s health declined sharply in the last months of her life, leading her to step back from public life. She preferred to keep her health issues a secret from many friends, surrounding herself only with close family members. Diane adopted Dexter and Duke when they were infants.
