Matthew McConaughey turned the red carpet into a family event! The 54-year-old movie star attended the Mack, Jack & McConaughey gala on Thursday, April 25, with his wife Camila Alves and their three children, Levi, Vida, and Livingston. McConaughey’s children looked grown up, posing for photos with their father.
The «Magic Mike» star chose a dark blue suit for the occasion, while Camila, 41, wore a stunning black one-shoulder dress. As for their children, 14-year-old daughter Vida looked amazing in a pink strapless dress, while sons Levi, 15, and Livingston, 11, were dressed in stylish suits. Vida posed separately with her father for a lovely photo shoot.
The family attended the fundraising event for a children’s charity organization founded by Matthew. The father of three had previously enthusiastically talked about his children in an interview with E! News. In September 2023, the «Interstellar» actor told the magazine that he learns from his children.
«Levi continues to teach me respect», - said Matthew. «He is a very attentive young man, and I appreciate that in him». As for Vida, he noted that she is a true peacemaker who has taught him forgiveness, and his youngest son, Livingston, «reminds me of the power of absolute obsession».
«You begin to see and understand the world through the prism of children», - Matthew explained at the time. «And, obviously, I have some dreams through this prism too».
Although the Oscar winner is one of the most sought-after stars in Hollywood, he prioritizes being an example for his children.
«One of the best lessons we can give our children as fathers is to show them how I love their mother», - he explained. «When you’re cooking in the kitchen, how you treat each other, how you disagree, how you show affection — applause, 'giddy-ups,' 'well dones,' 'I love you, dear.' These are really wonderful lessons that our children, although they may not tell you that they see them there or not — you didn’t give them advice, but they saw it and will remember».
That month, Matthew drew attention by saying that his mother Kay McConaughey’s approval of Camila was part of her «initiation» into the family.
«My family really appreciates rituals and initiations, and getting into the McConaughey family is not that easy», - he told ET Canada at the time, adding: «We test you. And even in our own family with my brothers and mother — one of us — my brothers and I elevate about something».
Recalling the moment when Camila overcame the obstacle with his mother, Matthew said that his wife told Kay: «'I'm not asking for your permission anymore.' And overall, my mom said, 'That's it. Right.'»
