Devin Strader reveals the reasons for breaking up with Jenn Tran in the finale of «The Bachelor»

Fans of the show «The Bachelor» are still trying to come to terms with the dramatic finale of the 21st season of «The Bachelorette», where they saw contestant Devin Strader break off his engagement with Jenn Tran in a dramatic turn of events.
During the «After the Final Rose» segment, Jenn — the first Asian contestant — tearfully recalled how her chosen man broke up with her two months after they left Hawaii, where they had gotten engaged.
«He basically said he no longer loves me and doesn’t feel the same way», - — remembered 26-year-old Jenn to host Jesse Palmer in the September 3 episode, adding that Devin, in a 15-minute phone call, said he «regretted» the engagement. «He was distant. This was not what he wanted anymore».
But Devin was quick to give his side of the story.
«When we left the show, I had a lot of doubts», - — explained the 28-year-old contestant, insisting that he had always been open about his doubts. «I admitted this to you».
«You kept all of this from me», - — ambitious nurse Jenn replied. «For two months I gave you everything, while you kept all these doubts hidden and made me fall even more in love with you and fight for a relationship that was already ending».
Listening to Jenn’s account of the breakdown of their relationship, the cargo delivery entrepreneur admitted: «I kept all these doubts» and «regretted not telling you about it sooner».
«I can only sit here and take responsibility for my shortcomings», - he added.
In an attempt to ease the tension between them, Devin praised Jenn: «I saw how this beautiful girl became this amazing woman on her own. We didn’t need to make you that on the show. It was amazing to see you blossom into who you’ve become».
But returning to the real world, without cameras, he admitted: «I found that I couldn’t meet those expectations in the real world. I found that I couldn’t meet what you needed and deserved. I saw how I contributed to your setback, and it hurt me. You don’t deserve to sacrifice your standards to be happy».
