A New York resident, Damon Foy, has pleaded guilty to the murder of his ex-girlfriend, Alberta Dale, whose dismembered remains were found in a suitcase in his home. This was reported by the Ulster County authorities on October 8, 2024.
According to the district attorney’s office, Dale, 44, from Pennsylvania, was reported missing after her family filed a corresponding report. During the investigation, which began on April 1, 2024, when Ulster County sheriff’s deputies conducted a welfare check on Dale, her personal belongings were discovered. The following day, after obtaining a search warrant, deputies found her remains in Foy’s home, including a severed head placed in a suitcase with a flower.
Foy, now 50 years old, allegedly killed Dale between March 31 and April 1, 2024, after she ended their relationship. During questioning, he stated that he «went crazy» because she «played him for a fool» and kicked him out of her home. At the time of the murder, Dale had a valid restraining order against Foy due to previous incidents of domestic violence.
Foy pleaded guilty to second-degree murder on October 7. Assistant District Attorney Elizabeth Coolman-Mills noted that the prosecutor’s office spent significant resources on this case and worked closely with law enforcement. Foy is expected to be sentenced on December 16 in Ulster County Court.
