The actress recalled finishing an interview for Vogue, waiting for Mescal to arrive. So, according to Edgar-Jones, what fans saw in the photo was just two friends recognizing each other when Mescal arrived with Bridgers.
«Finally, Paul came with Phoebe, and we waited and walked the red carpet together. And honestly, he’s my mate, so he probably just said, 'There she is!'» she said.
In the interview, she admitted that what bothered her in the photo was not so much the excessive theorizing, but her chosen pose.
«It was still early days, so I didn’t know how to pose on the red carpet», - continued the «Twister» actress. «So, in my opinion, the most tragic thing about it is the deep cross of legs I did in every photo».
While Daisy didn’t mind explaining the context of the photo to dispel any remaining rumors, Paul was candid about his feelings towards the speculative nature of fans and the media.
«I definitely feel the temptation to talk about the status of my relationship — it will always be there», - Mescal told Vanity Fair at the time, noting that he was «very angry and upset» about the speculation. «The temptation still exists to say, 'Shut up.
