Dylan Sprouse refused to make jokes about the appearance of Kim Rhodes, who played his mom

Life in the suite of Zack and Cody was not so sweet for Dylan Sprouse, who refused to make scripted jokes about fat people regarding his former TV mom, Kim Rhodes.
Now a 31-year-old actor, he starred alongside his twin brother, Cole Sprouse, in one of the most famous Disney Channel shows. The popular series, which even had its own spin-off and movie, told the story of two blond twin brothers who took over management of a hotel, living their young lives alongside their mom and hotel staff, learning lessons along the way.
During filming, the 55-year-old actress who played their mom, Carey, was pregnant, and Dylan felt it was wrong to make such comments about her body when he was around 14 or 15 years old. He shared during an interview on «Andy Cohen Live» on Thursday, August 1st: «[I] just don’t think fat jokes are funny. There’s a better joke somewhere, unless you’re talking about yourself».
He continued to express that it would only be funny if the joke was about himself, «if it’s self-deprecating, that’s what I find funny. But if you’re pointing fingers at people and talking about how they look, I just don’t find that very funny in general. I think there are better jokes».
Kim, who called the twins her «little men», - initially brought up this topic in November 2023 during an interview for the podcast «Back to the Best», - saying: «And he [Dylan] says, 'I wouldn’t be so disrespectful to any woman, let alone this woman. Write something funny, and I’ll say it'». Being a child star in some sense made him more mature, so his insistence not to say this phrase led him to ask the staff to change it to something funny.
The actor, married to Barbara Palvin, mentioned that during the show he was a «merciful king» and knew what was right and what was wrong thanks to their father, Matthew Sprouse, who always kept them «grounded»
