The entertainment industry, especially television shows, is going through tough times. In 2025, major companies, including Paramount Global, NBCUniversal, and The Walt Disney Company, canceled several TV shows. With the latest news about Goosebumps, Disney+ fans are disappointed that the company has closed down some of their favorite series. Below Hollywood Life has compiled a list of recently canceled TV shows on Disney+.
This really hit children of the 1990s and 2000s. Back in 2019, work began on reviving Lizzie McGuire, with original actors Hilary Duff, Adam Lamberg, Hallie Todd, Robert Carradine, and Jake Thomas reprising their roles.
However, after filming two episodes, production was halted in early 2020. At the end of the year, Hilary announced that the revival would no longer happen.
«I was so honored to have the character of Lizzie in my life», - Hilary wrote in an Instagram announcement. «She left such a deep impression on many, including me. Seeing the loyalty and love of fans towards her still means so much to me. I know efforts and discussions were made to make the reboot happen, but unfortunately, despite all efforts, it will not happen. I want any Lizzie reboot to be honest and authentic to who Lizzie would be today. This character deserves that. We can all take a moment to mourn the amazing woman she would have been and the adventures we would have had with her. I am very sad, but I promise that everyone tried their best, and the stars just didn’t align. Hey, that’s what 2020 is made of».
