U.S. Representative Jasmine Crockett conceded defeat to James Talarico, who was declared the winner of the Texas Democratic Party primary for the Senate elections in March 2026. Known for her straightforward and controversial style, as well as her confident demeanor, Crockett gained significant popularity on social media and positioned her campaign as «Texas Resilience», - promising her fellow citizens to get Texas back on the right track and to be an advocate for the middle class, hardworking Texans, farmers, young families, oil industry workers, small businesses, and ordinary people who make our state economically strong.
Now that she has no chance of a Senate seat against Republicans Ken Paxton and John Cornyn after their elections, some of Crockett’s supporters are wondering if she will remain in Congress.
Crockett represents Texas’s 30th congressional district, a position she has held since 2023. Previously, she represented the 100th district in the Texas House of Representatives from 2021 to 2023.
Many social media users from Generation Z and millennials became aware of Crockett for her fearless, well-argued speeches. In 2024, she referred to Marjorie Taylor Greene as «a blonde with bleached hair and a bad physique» after Greene criticized her «fake eyelashes». This moment went viral online, and Crockett confirmed her remark.
As mentioned, Talarico was declared the winner of the Texas Democratic Party primary in 2026. Crockett conceded defeat and stated in her announcement: «This morning, I called James and congratulated him on becoming the Senate candidate. Texas is ready to turn blue, and we must remain united because this is about more than one person. It’s about the future of all 30 million Texans and getting America back on the right track. Now that the primaries are behind us, Democrats must rally around our candidates and win. I am ready to do my part and will continue to work to elect Democrats at all levels».
Crockett’s term will last until January 3, 2027, and she will remain in Congress until that time
